ArcGIS database connection and enterprise geodatabase on Azure SQL Database

ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Enterprise connect to Azure SQL Database through the SQL Server database connection, using the server's database.windows.net name and, for Azure SQL only, Microsoft Entra ID sign-in. ArcGIS can enable an enterprise geodatabase in the database and then read and edit the feature classes stored there, and the connection can be registered with an ArcGIS Server site. Esri requires the connecting machines to run in Azure, in the same region as the database.
