Plans
What the Free and Managed plans let your company do on AEC Integrations, how the checklists and "Looks right" work, and what happens when a plan ends.
Last updated 10 October 2026
Every company with a seat is on one of two plans: Free or Managed. Free costs nothing. We arrange Managed with you by invoice or purchase order.
Each product in your portal shows its own plan and its own checklist. Today every product your company makes is on the same plan as your company.
What every plan includes
On Free and on Managed, anyone with a seat can:
- edit your company details, such as the description, website, headquarters, logo and contact links,
- edit each product's description, website, logo and categories,
- mark your company details, a product, or a product's integration list as "Looks right",
- work through the checklists described below,
- do everything a seat allows, such as managing seats, owning your integrations, adding your own links and contesting a detail. See Your seat.
The company name and the product names are not edited in the portal.
The product details on this list are the ones that feed search ranking. They are editable on Free for that reason. How ranking works explains how they count.
What needs Managed
These stay part of Managed:
- "How teams use it",
- a product's integrations page URL and API docs URL,
- a product's trades, audiences and phases,
- confirming or denying data flows on your integrations (Attesting an integration),
- claiming, editing, retiring and restoring an integration delivered through a connector, and deciding change requests on one (Owning an integration),
- writing, editing and resubmitting a public reply to a review of one of your products (Replying to reviews),
- telling search engines about your changes.
When your company edits a public page on Managed, we tell search engines that the page changed. On Free, your edits still go live straight away. Search engines find them on their own schedule, through our sitemap. Telling a search engine about a page does not decide whether it crawls, indexes or ranks that page. The search engine decides that.
On a Free product, the Managed-only fields stay visible in the portal. They are read-only, and each one says it is part of Managed.
"Looks right"
Sometimes you check a listing and nothing needs to change. An edit can only be saved when something changed. "Looks right" is how you record that you checked. It is free on every plan.
You can use it in three places:
- Company details. Your company's listing becomes maintained by your company, as it does after an edit. Your public vendor page then reads "Vendor maintained · Updated" with that day's date.
- A product. The same happens on that product's public page.
- A product's integration list. The date updates on each of that product's integrations that your company has already claimed. It never takes over an integration that AEC Integrations or another company maintains.
"Looks right" changes no listing details. It only records that your company checked them, and when.
The "Looks right" button only appears while that check is still to do. That holds at the top of a page and on a product's checklist. After you press it, the button stays until you leave the page and reads "Checked". Next time you open the page it is gone. Once something is checked, saving an edit is how you record a later check.
The checklists
The portal has two checklists. They show what is left to check.
Your company's checklist has three steps:
- Check company details.
- Finish each product checklist.
- Invite a colleague. This step is optional.
Each product's checklist has four steps:
- Check product details. Edit the product, or choose "Looks right".
- Check the integration list. Choose "Looks right" on the product's integrations. This step completes even when your company has claimed none of them yet.
- Claim or say "not ours". Claim each integration your company is recorded as owning. If one is not yours, choose "Not ours?" on it and say who offers it, if you know. The step counts it as answered while AEC Integrations reviews it, and after it agrees. Owning an integration explains both.
- Confirm data flows. Answer Yes or No on every data flow of the product's integrations.
How a product's score counts:
- Confirming data flows needs Managed. So on a Free product that step shows but is optional. A finished Free product reads "3 of 3".
- On a Managed product all four steps count. It reads "x of 4", where x is the steps done.
- A step with nothing to do counts as done.
- A step stays done once it is done. It does not expire.
What no plan changes
Each plan panel in your portal carries this line:
"No plan changes where you rank or appear, or whether a review is published."
In full, no plan changes:
- your position in search or in any listing,
- whether a review is published or removed,
- whether a listing exists,
- how an agreement label is worked out. Both companies' answers count the same.
Search order is worked out from how well a listing matches the search, then how complete it is. How ranking works sets out the full rule and how we check it.
Starting, paying and renewing
When we approve a claim, we put your company on Free or on Managed. The approval email tells you what your account can do. See Claiming your vendor listing. If your company is already on Managed, a new seat does not change that.
We bill Managed by invoice or purchase order. There is no card payment and no online checkout. To arrange Managed, renew it, or change anything about billing, contact us.
The portal shows your plan's status, and the end date where there is one. Before the end date, everyone with a seat and AEC Integrations get an email. Nothing changes before that date. A Managed plan does not lapse on its own. Its status changes only when we act on it.
When a Managed plan ends
This applies to a pilot too.
- Your company moves to Free. Your seats, sign-in and portal stay.
- Nothing you entered is removed. Your listings stay published.
- The portal shows a banner with the date the plan ended. It lists what still works and what is now read-only.
- Everything in "What every plan includes" keeps working. That includes editing your company details and product basics, "Looks right" and the checklists.
- Everything in "What needs Managed" becomes read-only.
- We stop telling search engines about your changes. Your edits still go live.
- You can no longer write, edit or resubmit a reply to a review. Published replies stay up, and you can still withdraw one.
- An integration delivered through a connector that you already claimed stays claimed. One you retired stays retired. Open change requests on one move to AEC Integrations.
- Each product's checklist counts three steps again, as on Free.
